Germany: The First Few Days!

We arrived safely into Germany (Dirty included) 7 May 2010. We met some of the soldiers at the new unit and so far I am very impressed they are a group that knows how to work hard and play hard. Dirty tried hummping the commanders leg!(thank you Dirty for that great introduction. ha). After a long day of traveling and meeting new people I wont lie by saying was very excited to get to the hotle room! We had a few hours of rest (meaning 3hrs.ha) before we were out and about in downtown Schweinfurt. What was suppose to be a night out at the Irish Pub turned into a night out at the club, and not leaving until sunrise....no joke, walked out the club at 0500 (5am). So, no time for jet leg our first day here.

Saturday 8 May 2010, we went to the company bbq, where we met more new faces and Dirty met a friend! They played very good together and hope to have more play dates in the future! After virtually NO sleep our first day I was looking forward to getting sleep after the bbq. But of course that would be too easy! We had to move hotels later that day, instead of Sunday, so we were not interfering with others Mothers day. So we packed our things and moved into a different hotel, still downtown. We walked into a very small room, and was told we could move into a larger room the next day! No rest again, because we had just enough time to change and get ready for a going away gathering at the Irish Pub. As tired as I was, the Pub was a lot of fun. Dukes was able to meet more guys from the unit and just relax and have a good time. Some of the guys he knew already from basic so that was good. After the Pub we hoped in a cab and went to play pool. A little less roudy gourp but still fun. No we did not walk out at 0500 this time. ha

Sunday 9 May 2010 (Happy Mothers Day), Dukes unplugged the phone the night before so we missed our noon wake up call to move rooms (same hotel). About 1530 when I finally woke up took Dirty out (its the law to clean up behind your animals and if caught you can get a ticket. I have become a pro in a short amount of time when it comes to picking up dog poo...with a bag of course!), stopped by the front desk to get the key to our new room (room number 3). Again we packed up and moved our things from the 9th floor to the 8th floor. I was able to rest and get some things put away, before dinner. We eat at a great Mexican resturant with our sponsor and Dukes old battle buddy from basic. It was a short night, great conversation, dinner and margaritas, in bed by 2230!

Monday 10 May 2010, Dukes woke up about 0300 and me shortly after, as well as Dirty (Thank you jet leg). So I put on a movie (Sex and the City-sn: miss you ladies) and tried to relax. Dirty was wide awake so that didnt happen. Next thing I know Dukes and I are both up getting dressed about 0430 for a run in the park. We were picked up to go on post at 0800 and if you know Dirty we had to "dog proof" the hotel room! ha. A very short day on post, the lady in housing said she couldn't do anything for us until Dukes in-processed, so we stopped by the pxtra to get dog food, then back to the hotel. We both slept from 1030-1600 when I woke up. Had to get food before everything closed. Walked around downtown looking for a Chinese resturant we saw our first day downtown (at night). No luck we went to the Doner shop and eat there. We figured our way back to the hotel were we tried to stay awake. we did a pretty good job, but I was the first one sleep (no surprise there).

Tuesday 11 May 2010, Dukes was picked up this morning at 0545, Dirty and I went for a walk, then to breakfest. We are now relaxing in the hotel watching CNN, the only thing in english on tv, right now, other than mtv.!

Miss everyone so much and will keep up posted as much as possible, pics coming soon!!!

LUV YOU!!!!

"...you can"

"Do all the good you can,
By all the means you can,
In all the ways you can,
In all the places you can,
At all the times you can,
To all the people you can,
As long as ever you can!”
-John Wesley-

I heard this yesterday at church and it spoke to me! For some reason this is the only thing that stuck out to me at church. Although I have to admit I was not really paying attention to the service, my body was there but my mind was not. I am still not sure why I needed to come home and look for this quote, but I did! :)

Traveling Back In Time...

Yesterday I was the ultimate bum! I slept in until 10:30a, showered and put on some sweats, watched t.v., movies, and played video games(I still have an original Nintendo). There was a point in the day when I deiced to make my way to the basement in search for a book to read. The basement is pretty well organized, all my things are on one side and Dorian's are on the other. While searching for a book I came across a box that read "Do not open" so of course I opened it(it was my hand writing anyway). As I began to open the box it occurred to me what was inside. Every journal I have ever written in from the age of 12. I picked up the journal with the duck tape all around it and knew what was written inside without even opening it. My missions trip to Mexico, Phase 2 back in 2002. After 2 hours in the basement and a nice spot on a rolled piece of carpet I had read through 5 journals with no end in site....Where those the books I was suppose to read? Was that the box I was meant to open, instead of the one that read "MMJ's Books"? As the day went on, I began to think about my life and what it was then and where it is now. Time goes by way to fast and sometimes in the process you either gain more of yourself or you lose yourself. After reading through those journals I realized I did lose a little part me, I have not yet decided whether what I lost was good or bad, only time will tell! But I know one thing for sure, whether good or bad, I am determined to find myself again this year, no matter what it takes!!!

The Great Text...

I received a text message from a great friend on Mon. Jan. 13, 2009 @ 3:51pm. (Jabez J.)
"You're pretty awesome you know that? :-D"
"You just are. Like I look at you . You're obviously smart and outgoing. Beautiful. But much greater. You want to be a better person. You're TRYING to be a better person. You are going to make an incredible wife someday. The qualities you posses are just to good for the right one not to find you:)"

That is the sweetest thing I have heard in a very long time...from a guy! We as females tell each other how great we are, and how any guy would be stupid to pass us up. We say these things to cheer each other up and make each other feel better when the really hot, nice guy acts up or turns us down! Now I am not saying that we do not mean these things when we say them but its almost a must to hate the guy and take care of your girl. ... With that being said there's a difference hearing those words from a guy than one of your girls. Even if the guy is just a friend, its still nice to know as a female your doing something right to attract the opposite sex. At times it sounds crazy to need male "approval" but in order to reproduce, we need the male species to be attracted(and no drunk goggles do not count!.ha...cause as crazy as it sounds we kinda need a male for that process...or at least their sperm!) ... I am happy that I possess qualities that are incredible and worth pointing out! At 23yrs of age, I am sure my qualities can only get better!(at least I hope.) Thank you for the encouragement! :) ... P.S. Whoever said you can not meet great people/friends at the bar must not have been in the right bar!!! :)
